Mission Statement

 “Strong service, humble leadership.”

In the OHS National Honor Society, it is our mission to take the academically excellent leaders of our student body and help them strengthen their leadership skills.

A compassionate heart will foster leaders pure in action and intention.  Service offers a new perspective:  care to lead, care to serve.

Service builds leadership, rather than undermining it.  Service will teach us that leadership cannot be attained by standing above others and commanding.  In order to lead, we must be on the same level as those we are leading.

Teaching us to serve teaches the value of community.  Service allows us to realize the impact we can make within our own community.

By expanding our leadership skills through service, we become well-rounded leaders prepared to successfully lead throughout our lives.  With OHS-NHS experience and curriculum, we will strengthen our service, strengthen our leadership, and strengthen our community.
