Below are the announcements that are read each morning over the public address system..

The Gay Straight Alliance will meet September 28th in the library from 2:15 to 3:30.
Their purpose is to create a safe, understanding and respectful environment for ALL students.

French club members: don't forget that your t-shirt money is due this Tuesday, Sept. 26. Shirts will NOT be ordered without payment.
Also, please check the Google classroom page to sign up if you are going to celebrate Oktoberfest with German Club.



Pink out shirts are on sale! Forms are available in the athletic office and due September 27th! Pink out for soccer is October 5th vs. Mehlville at Mehlville. Pink out for football is October 13th v. Mehlville at home. Turn in your form to Mrs. Zelenovich by Sept. 27 in room 205!


THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED AFTER SCHOOL ON OCTOBER 5 FOR CONFERENCES.
Congratulations to the Marching Tigers as they swept their division winning Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual, and Outstanding General Effect & 1st place in preliminary competition at Lafayette HS. The tigers finished in 3rd place during finals competition. 
  
Juniors still interested in ordering class rings...
Josten's make-up day is Wednesday, Oct. 11 during all lunches and 4-6 p.m. in the commons.  

 

"Student Against Destructive Decisions will have their first meeting on Wednesday, September 27 in room 315 from 2:15 until 2:45.

We are looking for new members and are looking to raise awareness about the dangers of activities like drinking and driving. All are welcome to join."

Hey OHS!
German Club will be holding Oktoberfest on Tuesday, September 26th after school in room 117.
All foreign language club members are invited.
Play the slingshot chicken game, the gonna hatch an egg game and win cool Oktoberfest prizes. Try some oom-pah-elicious German food.


All lunch applications are due by September 27. Any student currently receiving free or reduced breakfast and lunch that has not turned in their 2017-2018 meal application, will loose their temporary status on September 27.



Any A+ students looking for tutoring hours who can tutor College Prep Math please contact Mr. Ventimiglia in the guidance office.

 after school in room 208. If you have an interest in pursuing a career in the medical field, or if you would just like to learn about different health-related professions, come join us this Thursday in room 208! Everyone is welcome!

"Hollywood"  Homecoming is Saturday, Sept. 9th at OHS  from 7-10 p.m.  Tickets
are on sale Tuesday, Sept. 5 through Thursday, Sept. 7 for $15.  On Friday, Sept. 8th tickets
increase to $20. No tickets will be sold at the door night of dance.

Outside guest forms are available in the main office and need to be turned in at ticket
purchase.  All fees/fine must be taken care of before ticket sales, that includes athletics, books, library and cafe fines.  
Junior and Senior gold card ID holders will receive a free homecoming ticket.

--Get excited for tonight's homecoming game at 7!  It will be a Hawaiian beach theme so come wearing all your attire and be ready to have some fun in the sun! 


--Congrats to the girls golf team on an amazing 7th place finish yesterday out of 22 teams in the Lindbergh Invitational.  Congrats to Gabe Foppe on her top 20 finish yesterday.  
--Attention Sophomores:
Are you interested in becoming an Oakville Ambassador?  Ambassadors serve as the official tour guides for OHS and host 8th grade students who are shadowing.  If interested, please pick up an application in the Guidance Office.  Applications are due September 29.  If you have any questions, see Dr. Gross or Miss King in the Guidance Office.


--"Oakville High School Varsity softball is 3 and 0 so far this season, with a 12-2 win yesterday vs Northwest High School. They play at Kirkwood at 4:15 today."

--French Club and French Honor Society will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Remember to sign up to provide snacks and don't forget to bring your t-shirt design ideas! 

Senior Conferences will be held September 13th and 14th-all seniors are encouraged to attend.
Topics will include: the review of student transcripts, the college application process, financial aid and scholarships.  Sign up with Mrs. Betzer in the Guidance Office.

--Sr. class tshirts last call is Friday, Sept. 8th for $20.  See Mrs. Mueller in the main office.

--Cardinals Fundraiser
It's Oakville Night at the Cardinals v. Cubs game September 25th! Tickets are on sale for $25 each, but have a $50 face value. What a steal! Come cheer on Oakville at the Cardinals game! Order forms are available in the athletic office, or from any cheerleader. Order forms are due September 11th. Tickets will be passed out the following week.

Louis CAPS Program provides juniors and seniors the opportunity to test-drive their future in high-skill, high-demand careers while embedded in a professional workplace for a year-long experience.  The CAPS program will be hosting an open house for current sophomores and juniors on Wednesday, January 11th from 8:00-9:30am and from 6:45-7:15 pm.  Please see your counselor for information.
