The deadline for 2018-19 Leadership class applications has been extended to Tuesday Feb 20th. Applications are available in the Guidance Office and Drama Center. If you have any questions  see Ms. Learn.

      The Class of 2019 Junior Ring Dance will be held Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at Andre's West Banquet Center in Fenton from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.  Admission fee with an ID is $20 and $10 for gold card holders on Monday, Jan. 29 through Friday, Feb. 2 at Mrs. Bauer's desk during all lunches.  The dance is semi-formal.  All book, athletic,library and cafeteria fines must be paid in full.                                                        

 All students interested in joining the A+ program, the last meeting of the year will be Wed.,

Jan.17 at 9:15 during ANP in the cafeteria. If you are already enrolled in the program, you do not need to attend. This is a reminder that French Club and French Honor Society are meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 16. All honor society members MUST attend! ATTENTION OAKVILLE: The Sadie Hawkins Winter Formal is coming up! Girls, ask a guy, or just go with your friends for a night in a winter wonderland on January 27th at 7 pm in Gym A. Tickets are only $10 and will be on sale the week of the dance. If you and your date want to enter to be king or queen, post a picture of your proposal on Instagram and use the hashtag OHSWinterFormal2018. Please play fair, you will be automatically eliminated if you purchase likes on your post. The contest is growing day by day, so get your proposal out soon! We will stop counting the entries at the end of the school day on Friday, January 26th. Also, if you’re looking for a place to buy a corsage or boutonniere for the dance, Irene’s Floral Design is hosting a fundraiser sale and proceeds will go to benefit the Senior’s all night grad.    Do you have what it takes to be the next winner of Oakville's Got Talent? Start getting your acts together now for the 5th annual school-wide talent competition! Auditions will be January 12th, the Friday we return from break. Email Mrs. Ayres to sign up for an audition slot!
There will be an informational meeting for the Spring Play on Monday, Dec 18th at 2:30 in the Drama Center.  The meeting will last until about 3pm.  If you are interested in participating in the Spring Play come find out all the info!

Seniors, the deadline to submit a senior recognition ad in the 2018 yearbook has been extended to Friday, Dec. 1st.  Order forms can be picked up in room 234.

Good morning! This Friday, Dec. 1st marks the beginning of Presents for Paws and our 11 days of Holiday Cheer! That's right- for 11 days we will be dressing festive and collecting supplies for 5 local animal groups in ANP! This is a competition and the winning class will be rewarded with the traveling golden bone! So start gathering your new and gently used pet supplies, towels and blankets and wear red and white for Candy cane day this Friday to start earning points for your ANP! Happy Holidays OHS!

"NHS is hosting a Homeless For A Night event. Before the basketball home games on December 5th, and December 6th, we will be collecting any used coats, sweaters, and jackets to donate to homeless people who would otherwise be cold. Anyone who brings in a donation will get into the basketball game for free! Collectors will be standing outside of the Gym A foyer as well as the main foyer to take all of the coats. We hope to see you donate! Thank you!"

If you are looking for some extra money during the holidays, West County mall is looking for students and adults to help direct traffic. These temporary positions are available from Nov. 24-Dec. 30, making $10.50 an hour. For contact information, see Mrs. Betzer in the Guidance Office.

Seniors---senior panoramic order forms are available in the office.  The cost is $10 and deadline is Friday, November 17.

If you're looking for a fun club to join this year, then Drama Troupe is just right for you!  Stage fright?  No worries! Drama Troupe is just a group of friends doing fun activities without the pressure of the spotlight.  The next meeting is on Wednesday,
Nov. 1st, 2:30-3:15 in the Drama Center.  Don't be late and bring your friends!

There are children not so far away, who may only eat one meal a day. Student Council is putting on a Dr.Seuss themed food drive starting next Wednesday, November 1st,  and going through November 21st! Bring your canned food items and toiletries to your ANP starting Monday for a chance to win prizes! The first pick up date is on November 10th, and the ANP who brings in the most items will get their own personal showing of highlights from the OHS Theatre Company’s Fall play, “The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet!” One ANP from each grade level will win a donut party for their ANP if they bring in the most food by the last pick up date, November 21st. One Can, Two Can, Who can? YOU CAN!!

There will be NO late activity bus the week of Oct. 23-Oct. 27, only 4:00 for after school tutoring.  There are no open gyms or workouts during this week.

The blood drive is happening this Friday, Oct. 27th.  You  must be at least 16 years of age to donate, and 16 year olds must have a parental permission form signed.  You can sign up to donate at all lunches throughout the week. 

Seniors, the panoramic picture will be retaken (due to camera malfunction) on Friday, Oct. 27 during ANP at 9:15.  Wear your senior shirt if you have one.

Jostens will be here on Monday, Oct. 30 during all lunches for seniors who still would like to order cap/gowns/announcements.

All items turned into the Athletic Office and students will receive a BLUE CARD to give the coach on the first day of practice!  No blue card, no participation!

Congratulations to the Marching Tigers as they swept their division winning Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual, and Outstanding General Effect & 1st place in preliminary competition at Lafayette HS. The tigers finished in 3rd place during finals competition.

All lunch applications are due by September 27. Any student currently receiving free or reduced breakfast and lunch that has not turned in their 2017-2018 meal application, will loose their temporary status on September 27.

"Hollywood"  Homecoming is Saturday, Sept. 9th at OHS  from 7-10 p.m.  Tickets
are on sale Tuesday, Sept. 5 through Thursday, Sept. 7 for $15.  On Friday, Sept. 8th tickets
increase to $20. No tickets will be sold at the door night of dance.

--Congrats to the girls golf team on an amazing 7th place finish yesterday out of 22 teams in the Lindbergh Invitational.  Congrats to Gabe Foppe on her top 20 finish yesterday.  
--Attention Sophomores:
Are you interested in becoming an Oakville Ambassador?  Ambassadors serve as the official tour guides for OHS and host 8th grade students who are shadowing.  If interested, please pick up an application in the Guidance Office.  Applications are due September 29.  If you have any questions, see Dr. Gross or Miss King in the Guidance Office.

Senior Conferences will be held September 13th and 14th-all seniors are encouraged to attend.

It's Oakville Night at the Cardinals v. Cubs game September 25th! Tickets are on sale for $25 each, but have a $50 face value. What a steal! Come cheer on Oakville at the Cardinals game!
